This was our 2nd year going to Martha's Vineyard. The kids loved it last year so we decided to go again. I love everything about Edgartown, especially the decorations that were up all over for Independence Day. The island was a bit busier than last year because we went over the holiday. The harbor was filled with yachts and sailboats. There were dogs being walked and friends enjoying each other's company.  As my children have gotten older they have enjoyed the ocean more and more. I am thankful that my girlfriend Robin showed me this beautiful place!

My DSLR camera was a must to have with me at all times.  I started off strong on our family trip using my 35mm lens in order to capture more and tell a story but I got easily frustrated and changed to my 85mm a day after the trip. I tried to back away and do more storytelling with my camera but it isn't how I normally shoot so it was a challenge for me personally.

Here is a look at some of my favorites.

Boogie boards and skim boards.........

4th of July on the Vineyard gave an extra excitement to this years trip. Beach time, BBQ,  parades and ice cream. Oh yes, I can't forget Robin's 4th of July paraphernalia.

Menemsha Beach was a day filled looking for sea glass and searching for sea creatures. The kids tried to sell their crabs but no such luck.

A short visit to South Beach to see the large waves that I would NEVER let my kids swim in. Then off to State Beach to spend the day playing games, cooking out and some sandy fun!
